Making the switch
Choose the fit for your website
A website-focused workspace
OpenMetrica puts six overview metrics, traffic breakdowns, goal conversions and funnels close together. GA4 provides a broader report and exploration system, including web and app measurement.
A cookieless tracking architecture
The OpenMetrica tracker sets no cookies or local storage and uses site-scoped server-derived pseudonyms. GA4 uses analytics cookies by default, but Advanced Consent Mode can send measurements without them. Neither description replaces a site-specific privacy assessment.
Small integration, measurable limits
OpenMetrica enforces a tracker budget of 1,177 gzip bytes and loads its script with defer. It sends pageviews and configured custom events, without an advertising tag stack. Measure your full page to assess the effect in your own setup.
Keep a supported part of your history
You can upload supported GA4 CSV statistics to OpenMetrica for up to five years of historical aggregates. This is a file import, not a direct Google connection, and it does not migrate custom events or their properties.
When GA4 is the stronger fit
GA4 offers a free standard service, app measurement and advertising integrations. OpenMetrica does not replace Google Ads, buy advertising or provide remarketing audiences.
The verdict
Choose the scope your team needs
OpenMetrica is a focused option for cookieless website traffic and conversion reporting. GA4 remains the broader option for app analytics and advertising integrations.
